There is many name of this place, Bukit Merah, Red Forest, Bukit Buluh, 而连突红树林, and many more. Red forest located at Padang Piol Jerantut which is 15KM – 20KM from Jerantut town. This is one of the best hiking area. The height of Red forest hill is 371 meter from sea level, whole journey took around 2hrs – 3hrs to complete the trails. It depends on how long you will be spending your time resting, taking photos at the top.
First you park your car at the road side, walk pass the oil palm plantation to the border of jungle (Sometimes the locals will collect RM5 parking fees from you). Certain part is steep and slippery. After rained trek might challenging, require better shoe’s grip.
** Bukit Buloh or Red Forest got its name maybe from the red colour of trees that are thriving at the top of the hill. Its a rare phenomenon.
